Well, I decided to start adding to this again. Hannah is home but Ruthie is gone so now we'll work to keep her up to date on the daily comings and goings at our house.
Big changes at our house this fall. First, Benji started kindergarten this year. He is loving it but was pretty nervous the first day.
Now, he doesn't want to miss even when he doesn't feel well. He's doing really well, making friends, and enjoying learning new things. His best friend is Bowen. He lives just 4 houses down from us and they are pretty much always at each other's house.
The biggest struggle for him at school is his egg allergy. Most days he can't have the hot lunch andclass parties and birthday treats have already been a problem. He takes it all in stride, but it can be inconvenient. We are learning how to stay a step aheadof it all and becoming better planners.
Having the house be quiet and to myself during the day has been a nice change. Kim is also taking classes this fall so even when he is home the house stays pretty quiet. I already completed a scrapbook since the school year started. It was small, but it's done. It always feels nice to complete one even if it's just a mini album.
The other big change, though it hasn't really happened yet, is that I got a job. It's kind of weird. It wasthe first real job application and interview I've done in 26 years. I'll be working at the Embassy Suites with banquets. It will be nice (at least at this point I'm thinking it will be nice) to have something to do and they were willing to work with my schedule. It won't be much, probably 15-20 hours a week, but it will bring in a little bit of extra money.
Another change (thinkflashback) is that we now have Tony with us every week on Friday-Sunday. This week we also had him Wednesday and Thursday during the day because his sitter cancelled and Tony was sick. It's nice having him more regularly because we don't have such a big adjustment time each time he comes. It also doesn't seem to be such abig emotional adjustment for him to go back and forth betweenhouse because now he is doing it so frequently.
He loves walking up to the school with us to pick up the kids and watching Ben and Tony together as they tell each other all about their days makes me smile. It's fun to walk behind them and just listen to all thethings they felt were important enough to remember and share.

I grew it on my trellis along with the morning glories. They have finally just started to bloom this week.
They are these beautiful, big, white blossoms that start opening around 7:30 each night. They aren't completely open until after dark. It's kind of fun.
